Ancient Games and Intergenerational Learning for Legality

About AGILE

AGILE: Ancient Games and Intergenerational Learning for LEgality is a 24 months initiative for the exchange of practices, that involves 3 organizations from IT, ES, and RO, coming from the public and private sectors, working in different areas of education through sport, European Traditional Sport and Games (TSG), and physical activities. The idea is to promote the development of a Transnational Network supporting the mobility of seniors and staff members (athletes, coaches, coordinators, educators,..) of non-profit organizations, ensuring their skills development in education for justice in and through TSG. Thanks to a structured work plan, counting 3 in-situ and 1 online Transnational Project Meetings and 3 Local Sports Activities per country, a total of 38 international mobilities (between seniors and staff members) will be implemented, while, a total of at least 120 young people(6-15y.o.) will be involved in intergenerational learning activities to be carried out locally, such as interviews/podcasts to the grandparents about the games they used to play during their childhood and the organization of EU Traditional Sport and Games Contests, during the European Week of Sport. The results of these activities will be presented, discussed, and evaluated by the team of experts, who will then elaborate the AGILE Toolkit: a collection of successful stories, practices, methodologies, and approaches for boosting the acquisition of educational competencies and skills for promoting equality, cooperation, respect to the rules, of the other and the environment, fair-play attitude, health lifestyle, thus preventing juvenile delinquent behaviors and fighting discrimination and racism.

It was a pleasure for me to interview a senior. The discussions were pleasant and interesting. During the
interview, I tried to imagine the times in which these people lived and what wonderful things they could
create with very few resources. Important for them was that feeling of freedom and dynamism.
